Mixed medium of acrylic, screenprinting and packing tape transfers.
All of us crave to be held, loved, and have affection displayed toward us in life. Sometimes those are skin deep, sometimes heart felt. In order to be loved, we must be willing to display love ourselves.
Comments, questions, and critiques always welcome- Mike
So, I browsed about 10 times onto this images until I 'faved it. Why not instantly? Well, something in this pic does not has harmony in it, my eyes always fly over it and something in it is what I don´t like - but I can´t tell! All in complete I love this pic, the colores combines from the warm yellows orange to the dark black. Even the disturbing finelined human prints fit very good into the background, the grasping hand is hard to see but yes there and the roughed and blur edges do really make tis image an eyecatcher. I have to say, this is something I would buy, yet it scares me somehow because of the medica look human prints.
I copied and pasted from a response I gave another person that asked- hope this explains it-
Clear packing tape placed onto a black and white laser jet print or photocopy. After you stick the tape down firmly on the paper overlaping the strips of tape to cover the copy area or graphic, then you cut out the copied area in throw it into a bucket of water for a few minutes. When you remove it from the bucket, you rub the paper pulp off the back with your fingers. The copy/laser jet ink will stick to the tape while all of the paper pulp will eventually rub off, leaving essentially a clear sticker so you can put it over any surface and have the underlying surface show through. I usually use additional adhesion when I stick it down like Mod Podge or Clear gloss medium. After you get the artwork composed, I usually do a thick coat over the entire work of brushed on gloss or matte medium to build texture and hide/ bury the edges of the tape transfer areas.
Brilliant! My absolute favorite piece to date! Love it! Very Powerful it really speaks to me. It seems to represent almost an outer body experience, stepping outside of ones self to reflect the need for love.
