"Checkmate" -32 inch by 50 inch Airbrushed on stretched canvas. I wanted to push my painting skill in the area of automotive work. I also am starting to play with the idea of having close ups of vehicles with a combimantion of focused and unfocused area to achieve an almost abstract quality about the piece until people realize what it is. In this case, it a grill and headlights from a 1953 Cadillac Eldorado.

It's gorgeous!
So many intricate value changes here to capture the look and feel of the chrome!
And some nice gradations, too.
Beautiful and precise!

And sure i believe it. I have seen a lot of great work, my own and others, turned down for juried shows.
There is seldom any rhyme or reason to it. :)
